Old Fear

Hello old fear

I thought I had

Rid myself of you

Through positive imagery

Stuffing down the

Anxiety

Old witchcraft

Superstitions

That held me hostage for so long.

When good things happen

When all is silent

And there is finally peace

I close my eyes

And there you are

It’s as if you can’t help but

Manifest

What might happen

What might happen

And what doesn’t

Usually

Happen.

Sow your seeds with my

Panic

The rays of light

Pumping through my veins

With each vessel

Grow

Louder

And louder

And louder

All thoughts

Undeserving

And the restlessness

That calm

Somehow brings

“All is right in the

World”

Is so uncomfortable

To sit with.

But then with

Open eyes

I begin to starve you

With my breath

And reassurances

All can be right

In the world

And that doesn’t mean

It’s ending.
